I truly believe, if you own a salon its success is your responsibility.

You’re like the driver of a bus. You have the controls and you're responsible for what happens.

Does that make sense?

Now a bus can carry passengers, but if you think about it, so can your business ... because your staff, your clients, your suppliers, your backers and your partners can all be thought of as passengers who've chosen to get on and off at different times.

Just like salons, there are many buses to choose from ... all going to different places.

If someone decides to be a passenger on your bus, what do you think happens if they start to believe you don't know the route, or that your bus is unreliable and constantly letting people down?


What then?

They'll probably get frustrated, fed up and get off. They'll want to find a bus that's going where they want to go, when and how they want it to go ... in other words the quality of the experience matters!

If you think the people who get off are the hard to please, never satisfied 'whiners' and 'moaners' then as the driver you probably won't mind too much, but the bad news is it's the 'whiners' and 'moaners' who tend to be the passengers who don't get off, simply because ... they like having something to whine and moan about!

The passengers who give up on you will be the positive people with direction, passion, focus, and commitment ... The people you can't afford to lose.

So what's the moral of the story?

It's simple.

If you've got a salon full of 'whiners' and 'moaners' or you're losing the clients and staff you want to keep, its a clear sign that your salon isn't delivering a consistent experience. It's a clear sign your salon makes a habit of letting people down and as the owner you're responsible!
